Creating a mould from picture frame, advice please?

Postby mmlondon on Wed Jun 24, 2009 8:32 am

Hi,

I'm completely new to mould making, I would like to create a mould from an existing plaster picture frame, then cast replicas. The frame is about 7x5in

Where should I start, what materials are required? I haven't been able to find a good resource on the internet explaining the basic process.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

The easiest way to do this is to use silicone putty mix the twp parts as instructed and then press aginst the area of the frame you wish to duplicate. Leave till flexible and form peel off and cast whatever you are using into this mould, paster of whatever. Sounds too easy? Well it is, life has to present something easy to us now and again.
