Postby mel on Thu Apr 09, 2009 2:12 pm

Hi, If anyone can help out, I'm into trying out making magnets...I have used 2 part hard plastic and it was good stuff..but I think Im looking for the stuff that you would see most magnets are made of...is that resin? this is what Im not sure about ? frangipanni fridge magnets and small ornaments are made from this stuff if that gives any ideas... you can also file it and its kinda a off white colour, it set very hard and kinda looks like ceramic...tell me is this a resin ? and whats the proper name, and is it a two part method...thanks to all that can help?

Many people are using polyurethane resin with good results. You mix equal of a Part A with a Part B pour it into your silicone mould and it sets hard and goes a white colour in 3 minutes and can be taken our of the mould in 10 minutes. Called CraftCraft you can see it listed on www.aldax.com.au Stan Alderson
