hi, I'm new to the site and was just wondering if anyone can help with 2 questions..

1. I would like to create a mould for this particular part.. it is a plastic and can become brittle over the years under the sun..

as you may notice in pics 1, 2 and 3 there are only 1 hole for the screw to go into, but on the 4th picture there are 2.. I was thinking of using some clay to maybe add the missing tab..

2. what would be the best resin that i can use to replicate this plastic?

TIA..

Hi,
You do not mention size or if this is required to to be strong for structural reasons. A silicone mould using CraftSil could be made either with a flat back or a 2 piece mould if both sides are to be reproduced. Resin could then be cast into the mould probably using polyester resin and possibly strengthened if required by using chopped fibreglass matt or metal rods etc. Stan
